Injured late in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 11 matchup opposite LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, John Brown III will sit out the next games. AS Monaco updated his status following performed medical tests.

Brown, 30, will be sidelined for seven to ten days, the team announced Friday.

The former High Point standout left the game versus the Betclic Elite LNB Pro A rival on a stretcher. Beyond the scary moments in the closing seconds of the contest hosted at Astroballe, the medical team ruled out a serious rib injury. Therefore, the initial timeline projects Brown to potentially become available for the next double-game week of the EuroLeague Regular Season in mid-December.

At the top of his second campaign in Europe’s premier club continental competition, the all-around contributor was a starter for head coach Sasa Obradovic in ten of the 11 first outings and registered 6.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.6 steals, 0.9 assists, and 0.1 blocks per contest. La Roca Team made it to 8-3.

At the domestic level, Brown averaged 4.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.1 steals, 0.4 assists, and 0.3 blocks per game pushing his side to an 8-2 start in LNB Pro A.

Barring another setback, head coach Obradovic can count on all the remaining members of the Monaco squad moving forward in the 2022-23 season. Plenty of key games to face without Brown, from playing host to ADA Blois Sunday and the domestic league affair opposite ASVEL Tuesday to visiting Real Madrid in Round 12 of the EuroLeague Regular Season next Thursday. Wrapping up next week will be the away LNB Pro A matchup against Metropolitans 92 and NBA draft prospect Victor Wembanyama Sunday.
