A virus infection labels Nate Wolters as doubtful to play for Panathinaikos with slumping EA7 Emporio Armani Milan coming to visit Thursday.

Wolters, 31, has been admitted to the hospital and will most likely miss the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 12 affair, the team announced Wednesday.

Since missing the first four games of the Regular Season, the former South Dakota State standout produced 10.7 points, 4.4 assists, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per contest over the next seven rounds of the season. A huge part of the Greens moving past the sluggish start and improving to 5-6 with four wins in the last five outings.

Already sidelined, Lithuanian Marius Grigonis (back) will not play for the team coached by Dejan Radonjic against Olimpia Milano. However, the rest of the players are expected to be available for the contest to be hosted in OAKA Altion.

For the Milan outfit, Kevin Pangos (right knee) and Shavon Shields (left foot) will both stay on the injury list. Recovering from an acute viral infection, Luigi Datome has been sidelined for the last month without a timetable to return.

“For us, it is another difficult and important test,” head coach Ettore Messina previewed the next game, “We are coming off a very complicated time in the EuroLeague, but also coming off a very promising game in the Italian league.”

Seven losses in a row in EuroLeague shaped a 3-8 record sinking his side down to the last place in the standings. But an 8-1 W-L tally makes out the campaign in Italy’s LBA Serie A.
