Fenerbahce, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Panathinaikos are checking the case of Kostas Antetokounmpo, who is currently under a two-way contract in Chicago, but this may change in the near future. The three European powerhouses need a boost in the front line and Antetokounmpo can provide exactly that.
Out of the three, Maccabi is in the biggest need of a player addition as soon as possible, after the injury of Alex Poythress who may miss the rest of the season.
On the other hand, Fenerbahce and Panathinaikos feel they need some improvement and especially for Panathinaikos the addition of Kostas Antetokounmpo will be much easier roster-wise, because of his Greek passport that permits his presence to the Greek League roster without the need of cutting a foreign player.
It has to be noted that Virtus Bologna also demonstrated a level of interest in his case, without however moving any further toward something more significant.
The Greek national team center played last year in the EuroLeague with LDLC ASVEL and so far he is averaging this season 11,8 ppg and 6,4 rpg in the G-League with the Windy City Bulls.
SDNA reported first Fenerbahce’s interest in the player.
