Lokomotiv Kuban made an explosive appearance in the second half (42-18) and beat Pinar Karsiyaka 72-53 to remain unbeaten in group C (4-0). On the other hand, the Turks suffered their third straight loss (1-3).
For the winners, Malcolm Delaney and Evgeny Voronov had 15 points, while Joe Ragland scored 15 for the losing squad.
In the beginning, Pinar Karsiyaka played better than their opponents and managed to retain a small lead during the first 20 minutes. The first quarter ended with the Turks in front by four points (17-21). Later, both teams played poor offensively and the second quarter ended with an individual score 13-14. Consequently, Karsiyaka had a five-point advantage at the end of the first half (30-35).
In the second half, though, everything changed. Giorgos Bartzokas’ team was impressive on both ends of the floor, outscored their opponents 22-7 and took a 10-point lead after 30 minutes in the game (52-42). In the last quarter, the Russians continued to be unstoppable and extended their lead to 19 points (69-50) with a 14-4 run. As a result, Karsiyaka was unable to make a come-back and Lokomotiv claimed an easy victory.
