Crvena Zvezda made international headlines after acquiring the likes of Luca Vildoza and Facu Campazzo. The two Argentinians will help the Serbian club make a push for a playoff spot in Euroleague and club president Nebojsa Covic spoke about the newest addition and openly explained to media members some details about the financial structure of the team.
“We can have a good financial structure but we don’t have the ability to say what the budget will be before the season starts. For this season, the first team and the coaching staff have a budget of 9,5M euros. Maybe 11M and something including junior teams” said Nebojsa Covic.
He pointed out that Campazzo and Luca Vildoza are among the biggest signings in the club’s history.
“These are almost the best players who came to our clubs. In order to appreciate everyone who was here, I say almost. I respect all those guys very much because they left their last drop of sweat for Zvezda. They are two outstanding NBA players and that should be good for Serbian basketball, regional, and Euroleague“.
Campazzo made his debut in the ABA league, but then there is a big question mark whether he will play against Barcelona in Euroleague since there’s still a ban on Zvezda for registering new players in the competition due to financial issues from
“Crvena Zvezda did everything in our power. There is a misunderstanding with the Euroleague. As for Adams and others, we have settled our obligations. We will see in these days whether the misunderstandings with the Euroleague will be resolved,” Nebojsa Covic added.
