Barcelona center Mike Tobey will finish the 2022-23 season with the Blaugrana according to Eurohoops sources. There’s an opt-out clause on the player’s contract that could be exercised by both him and the club but neither decided to use it.
Tobey, 28, signed a one-year deal with Barcelona last summer to return to EuroLeague after playing in the competition with Valencia from 2019 to 2021. So far this season, he’s been averaging 6.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in 16:32 minutes in EuroLeague, along with 5.0 points and 2.8 rebounds over 11:28 in the Spanish ACB League.
Before he joined Barca, Tobey joined Slovenia in the 2022 EuroBasket. He had a pretty solid individual run with 11.2 points plus 7.0 rebounds but the Slovenian team was eliminated by Poland in the quarterfinals.
