Euroleague Fantasy: We roll dice with Isaiah Canaan

By Dimitris Minaretzis/ info@eurohoops.net

Roll a good one, the song said, and we’re betting on Canaan’s scoring momentum to bring extra points to Euroleague Fantasy. Last week Mike James idea didn’t work – which hasn’t happened to us many times this year – so we’re looking for a rematch.

After the OAKA against Panathinaikos when he scored 17 points with a PIR of 13, the shooting guard of Olympiacos remained in the shallows against Armani but launched against the AEK, achieving a record of the “red and whites” with eight three-pointers!

Yes, Canaan is not a Fantasy player since his action is mainly limited to scoring. If he gets the shot, then he can go up statistically over 10 points in the rating. If it doesn’t work out for him, then he won’t offer much.

After all, his average PIR this year is just 2.6, and 5.1 throughout his career!

Why him?

First and foremost it costs next to nothing. With only 5.8 points in the “fantasy” game, his selection does not burden us much.
At the same time, WE CHOOSE Vasilije Micic with 17.5 points as a stable option and chase the “explosion” of Canaan who is hot after the show against AEK.

Secondly, Canaan will have in front of him the Monaco defense that often allows many points to its opponents and if the American’s hand remains “hot” (4/7 three-pointers against Panathinaikos, 8/11 against AEK), then he will add points to our bag out of nowhere.

At the end of the day, you don’t have much to lose and at the same time, you can get a first-line “Fantasy” player to get sure points and expect from Canaan something special.

If you trust us, read our weekly recommendations and join the Eurohoops league and compete with us. The Winner of our league will win a jersey at the end of the season!
