After a 100-84 win against Bursa, Fenerbahce Beko coach Dimitris Itoudis spoke about injuries, especially Nemanja Bjelica’s situation.
The Serbian player returned to Fenerbahce last summer but has yet to formally begin his second stint in the Istanbul outfit due to a calf injury.
“The right person to answer this question is our team doctor. Lastly, I was told that he was very close to being included in the team but that he felt something in his Achilles recently, and a more detailed observation is being made about this. Under normal circumstances, he should have been included in the team after this match, but we will see where we are when we return,” Itoudis said.
He reminded everyone that four players are still missing, with Ismet Akpinar, Tarik Biberovic, and Tonye Jekiri also out of the team due to injuries.
“We know the standings table, and we are happy about it. We started our winning streak again and showed that we were returning to the right form. Of course, we still cannot benefit from our four players. İsmet, Bjelica, Tarık and Jekiri are absent. But the players we have give their all“.
Devin Booker also received a blow in the win against Bursa.
“He received a significant blow to his rib, had trouble breathing, and played the game like that. I hope it’s nothing serious. But these players made a promise at the beginning of the year. Even if they have problems or don’t feel well, they go out on the field and fight for Fenerbahce, ” Itoudis concluded.
Fenerbahce will host Monaco in Round 20 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague next Thursday.
