After trying the NBA experience with the Sacramento Kings and being released before the end of the year, Chima Moneke returns to Europe, landing in the EuroLeague with AS Monaco.
The 27-year-old Nigerian forward has officially signed a contract until the end of the 2023-24 season with the Monegasque club.
“I chose Monaco because the coach, the general manager, and the president showed a great interest in me directly. I felt wanted by the club and they thought I could really contribute to this team. They immediately seduced me and in addition, the objectives are high. The idea of living in Monaco also appealed to me enormously, I want to live a peaceful and happy life“, he said about joining the team.
The former BAXI Manresa player shocked the European landscape by being named the 2021-22 Basketball Champions League MVP, averaging 13.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
