Just hours after the announcement of the new 10 year deal between Euroleague and IMG and the new 16 format in which 11 spots are reserved for the A licences teams, the details for the next five spots are still uknown. However, according to Solobasket the champions of the VTB United League,  German BEKO BBL and Turkish Superleague will get a spot in the regular season.

Anadolu Efes Istanbul, CSKA Moscow, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, FC Barcelona Lassa, Fenerbahce Istanbul, Laboral Kutxa Vitoria Gasteiz, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv, Olympiacos Piraeus, Panathinaikos Athens, Real Madrid and Zalgiris Kaunas are the 11 A licences teams, one more spot will belong to the Eurocup winner and the last one to the team which will win the September qualification tournament. At this point the question remains how will the eight teams of the qualifying tournament will be picked and if the d0mestic league spots will turn into wildcards if the champs has already secured a spot in the Euroleague regular season by winning  the Eurocup or by an A licence.
