Panathinaikos showed interest in sharpshooter Matt Thomas, as SDNA reported, and two sides are close to a deal, as Eurohoops confirms.
The team led by Dejan Radonjic submitted an offer that satisfies the players’ requests, and positive developments are expected in the near future.
Radonjic recently talked about a possible signing, with the club reportedly having conversations with Shabazz Napier, but then Olimpia Milan emerged as a serious candidate for his signature.
Now it seems that Panathinaikos is on the verge of signing the 29-year-old US guard, known in Europe for his stint with Valencia.
Thomas won the EuroCup in 2019 with the Spanish team, averaging 12,7 points and shooting 48% from three-point range.
After that, he played for Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz, and Chicago Bulls in the NBA, averaging four points per match in his 126 regular season performances.
