Sasha Vezenkov has done it once again. The red-and-white superstar has been named MVP of Round 24 in the 2022-23 EuroLeague thanks to an amazing performance against ALBA Berlin.

Olympiacos’ number 14 had one of his best performances of the season, with a monstrous double-double of 28 points (season-high) and 13 rebounds, shooting 6/7 from two, 4/6 from the arc, and 4/5 at the line.

He went close to his career-high PIR with 40, the highest of Round 24. Wade Baldwin IV followed with 39 after scoring his career-high 38 points in Maccabi’s loss against Crvena Zvezda.

“I’m really happy, because we won one more game, and now we have to keep going because the EuroLeague is really tough. We won in this tough gym against a really talented team, and I’m really happy about it”, Vezenkov said after the game.

This is the fifth time in the 2022-23 season that Sasha Vezenkov receives the MVP of the Round Award after getting it in Rounds 2, 4, 8, and 10. He’s leading Olympiacos, which is currently 1st in the standing with a 17-7 record.

The only players that have been named EuroLeague MVP of the Round more than once this season, other than Vezenkov, are Fenerbahce’s Johnathan Motley and Real Madrid’s Dzanan Musa, but both of them have done it only on two occasions.

The Bulgarian power forward is averaging 18.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in this year’s EuroLeague, shooting with amazing performances: 65.4% from two, 43.6% from beyond the arc, and 86.6% at the charity stripe. He’s the main favorite to win the MVP.
