Interviewed by Mundo Deportivo, Bojan Bogdanovic followed Giannis Antetokounmpo by revealing his favorite teams in the EuroLeague, for which he already played at the beginning of his career before jumping into the NBA.
The Croatian small forward revealed he would expand his EuroLeague knowledge. “I would like to see more Euroleague, but here you have to see it at noon and it’s a difficult time for me”, he said before talking about the difference in style between Europe and the NBA.
“It’s a different game, we play more minutes and there aren’t 3 seconds like in Europe. But, on the other hand, all the best players are here, every great European and American player wants to play in the NBA and that says a lot about the level there is. But it’s a different style of play. Maybe it’s more difficult to score there, but the best players are here”, he added.
He went on to talk about his time at Real Madrid, where he played from 2005 to 2009. “It was fantastic. I went there quite young, at 16 years old. It was quite hard off the pitch for me to learn Spanish, but it was a great time, I met a lot of great people and made a lot of friends in Madrid, many of them came to see me at the game in Paris. Honestly, I have a lot of great memories of Madrid and of Spain as a country”, he said about his years with the Blancos.
Then, he said that in case he will return to Europe, the 33-year-old would love to join one of his former teams. “Real Madrid and Fenerbahçe would be the two teams I would love to play for if I returned to Europe. But right now I don’t think this way”, the former Fener player said.
Bogdanovic, who spent three years in Istanbul after getting drafted in 2011, is now averaging the best numbers of his career with the Detroit Pistons, posting up 21.7 points per game.
