According to L’Équipe, the Tony Parker-ASVEL story may have arrived at an end. The former player of the San Antonio Spurs, in fact, reportedly wants to give away his shares in the French EuroLeague side.
Tony Parker, who is in charge at ASVEL since 2014 and who’s the majority shareholder of the Rhone club, in fact, intends to sell his shares to Serge Bueno, president of Smart Good Things.
The French legend, whose brother TJ is currently the head coach of the black-and-white team in the LNB, has won 4 French championships, 2 French Cups, and 1 French Supercup as president of ASVEL.
He bought a 20% stake in the Lyon club in 2009, while he played for it during the 2011 NBA lockout. Three years later, way before retiring from professional basketball, became the ASVEL president.
The French club is currently second-to-last in the EuroLeague just ahead of ALBA Berlin with an 8-16 record and is struggling in the domestic league as well, where ASVEL is 7th with an 11-9 record.
