Parker will remain president in ASVEL despite selling ownership

When the news broke on Monday that Tony Parker wants to sell his shares of ASVEL many thought that would be the end of his presidential term as head of the club.  But now, as reported by Lequip he wants to calm things down, and reassure the other shareholders that he will remain in the club as president.

The French legend, whose brother TJ is currently the head coach of the black-and-white team in the LNB, has won 4 French championships, 2 French Cups, and 1 French Supercup as president of ASVEL.

He bought a 20% stake in the Lyon club in 2009, while he played for it during the 2011 NBA lockout. Three years later, way before retiring from professional basketball, became the ASVEL president.

The French club is currently second-to-last in the EuroLeague just ahead of ALBA Berlin with an 8-16 record and is also struggling in the domestic league, where ASVEL is 7th with an 11-9 record.
