The huge upgrade to Fenerbahce Beko was made official by the Istanbul outfit Wednesday morning.
Tyler Dorsey inked a contract lasting through the 2024-25 season, the team announced, confirming the news reported by Eurohoops earlier this week. The deal does not include NBA outs, per a separate report of Eurohoops on the incoming player for Fener.
Fenerbahce managing to complete the addition before the deadline for Turkish Airlines EuroLeague clubs to register new players allows Dorsey to return for a fourth campaign in Europe’s premier club continental competition. Logging 100 games played between Olympiacos and Maccabi FOX/Playtika Tel Aviv, he averaged 11.4 points behind 42% from the field, 2.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 0.7 steals per contest.
This season, Dorsey joined the Dallas Mavericks on a two-way contract and was later acquired by G League affiliate Texas Legends. He tallied 18.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game per G League game, before being released last week.
Coming out of Oregon, he was selected by the Atlanta Hawks as the 41st overall pick of the 2017 NBA draft. His NBA career stretched to 107 appearances, including three showings with the Mavs this season.
At Fener, Dorsey will reunite with Dimitris Itoudis, after working under the Greek tactician in the 2022 EuroBasket. The Turkish team currently sits fourth in the EuroLeague standings with a 15-9 record, 2.5 games behind leading Olympiacos with ten games left on the double-legged round-robin schedule of the Regular Season.
