Tony Parker gives up selling ASVEL shares

Faced with the internal revolt, Tony Parker is now backing away from the idea to sell the majority shares in the LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne organization.

According to L’Equipe ASVEL president was unable to sell his shares to the Franco-Israeli businessman Serge Bueno as he wished, because his deal with the rest of the shareholders prevented him to do so.

That’s why at this point he has completely backed down from that idea and will remain the majority shareholder.

The French legend, whose brother TJ is currently the head coach of the black-and-white team in the LNB, has won 4 French championships, 2 French Cups, and 1 French Supercup as president of ASVEL.

He bought a 20% stake in the Lyon club in 2009, while he played for it during the 2011 NBA lockout. Three years later, way before retiring from professional basketball, he became the ASVEL president and the major shareholder.
