After Crvena Zvezda’s painful loss to Panathinaikos in Athens, rumors started swirling about PAO’s interest in one of the Belgrade club’s best players Luca Vildoza.
Talking to the Serbian outlet Mondo, the Argentinian denied those rumors.
“We were on the plane and when we landed I started receiving messages, my phone was on fire, and everyone kept asking me about it. I immediately called my agent, and he was shocked. It was the first time he heard of it. It’s normal for clubs to follow players, nothing new, it’s the same everywhere, but none of this is true,” Vildoza said.
The former Baskonia player has a contract for another season with the Serbian champions and might stay with the Belgrade club since he became one of the fan favorites.
“I feel great. Life is good, I love the club and my teammates. I don’t forget that Zvezda brought me back to life and helped me become what I am today. When I was coming back from the NBA I was nobody. I wouldn’t become this without the club. So, to be clear – yes, I would like to stay next season. I have a contract for another year. Of course, nobody can know what will happen during the summer, it depends on the results and everything. We’ll see, but I wish to stay.”
Vildoza convinced Facundo Campazzo to join him in Belgrade, and the former Real Madrid and Denver Nuggets player also signed until 2024.
“I brought him, he also has a contract for another season. You never know. We both like it here. Fans are helping us a lot, we feel at home when we see those Argentinian flags and hear the Argentina chants. Who knows, anything is possible,” Luca Vildoza said.
