AS Monaco suspended Mike James temporarily for violating the club’s internal rules, and Yann Ohnona from L’Equipe reported that the measure was enforced due to the player partying after the game against Panathinaikos Athens on March 8th.
The French outlet notes that James spent the night partying with former Monaco forward and current Panathinaikos star Dwayne Bacon. The club’s management didn’t find the player’s behavior acceptable.
James was ruled out of the game against Baskonia with a finger injury and also missed the match against Roanne in the Betclic Elite on Sunday.
The best US scorer in the EuroLeague history is among MVP candidates this season, averaging 16,8 points, 4,7 assists, and 3,5 rebounds for an average PIR of 17,2.
L’Equipe adds that Bacon was in no position to participate in the team’s practice the next day.
The US player didn’t play against Crvena Zvezda last Friday but did in PAO’s loss against PAOK on Monday scoring 16 points.
