Interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport before the EuroLeague Round 29 clash between Real Madrid and Olimpia Milano, Sergio Rodriguez talked about his former team’s moment.

“The most beautiful memory is the Scudetto, the three-year milestone in a city and in a club that have done so much for me and my family. Milano and Olimpia will always be in my heart”, he said about his time in Italy.

“Milan has suffered many injuries which have prevented them from growing and playing regularly. It’s not a matter of roles or players who are no longer there. So it’s not because I left that the team had problems”, the veteran point guard said. “With the return of the injured players, Milan has found continuity of performance and also a new dimension with double-playmaker. It’s a strong team with players who know how to win”, Chacho added.

Asked about the possibility of Ettore Messina’s side entering the playoff picture, he didn’t have esitation. “I believe it and Milan must believe it. They have 7 games ahead, with 6 more victories they can enter. They have an extraordinary coach and now it can be seen that they play with confidence. I’m rooting to find them at the EuroLeague Final Four”, Sergio Rodriguez finally stated.

The Spanish playmaker spent three seasons with the red-and-white Italian team before returning to Real Madrid, where he’s averaging 4.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game in this year’s EuroLeague.
