Adding to an injury-riddled campaign, Virtus Segafredo Bologna ruled out Milos Teodosic for two weeks.

Teodosic, 36, sat out the recent key fixture opposite EA7 Emporio Armani Milan. Following the Round 22 contest of Italy’s LBA Serie A Regular Season, the team announced he will miss two more weeks.

The experienced Serbian guard has been impressive in making his return to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Back for an 11th campaign in Europe’s premier club continental competition and the first since the 2016-17 season, the 2016 champion with CSKA averaged 10.3 points and 6.0 assists per game to go with 1.6 rebounds, 0.6 steals, and 0.1 blocks per game. More in 2022-23, putting up 9.0 points, 6.5 assists, and 1.4 rebounds over ten appearances at the domestic level.

Teodosic to the sidelines is a huge hit to the team coached by Sergio Scariolo ahead of the demanding task of salvaging a berth in the EuroLeague Playoffs. With Gora Camara, Isaia Cordinier, Leo Menalo, Semi Ojeleye, and Alessandro Pajola all currently unavailable, the team sitting at 13-16 is two games away from the Playoffs zone with five outings left in the double-legged round-robin schedule. After Real Madrid visits Friday, three of the next four games are on the road.

Despite Teodosic not suiting up, the Bologna outfit defeated Milan on the road to improve to 18-4 and earn a one-game advantage over Ettore Messina’s side in the two-team race for homecourt advantage throughout the Italian league’s Playoffs.
