Following the first episode of the “A day in life” series by ELPA with Donatas Motiejunas, the second one is featuring Mathias Lessort, who is playing the best season of his career with Partizan. The former AS Monaco center was followed before and after the clash against ALBA Berlin.
“When you talk about Partizan, the first things people think about are the fans and the incredible atmosphere. When you sign up to play here, it’s one of the first things you think about”, he said about the black-and-white fanbase in the Stark Arena.
“I was not nervous about coming to live here, but I get why people can be uneasy. It’s because people in France don’t know much about the city and don’t know anybody living in Belgrade. But it’s a beautiful city and it’s very pleasant to live here. I feel really good here”, the 27-year-old big man added.
Finally, he spoke about his relationship with Partizan Belgrade’s fans. “Beyond the good connection with the fans, the most important thing for me is that they accept me as a human being and that they appreciate me as a human being and a player. It’s true that I communicate with them a lot, but it is not something I necessarily looked for. But it makes me happy that the fans give me so much energy and love. It’s definitely helping me a lot”, Mathias Lessort said.
The French center is averaging 12.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, being one of the best centers in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, if not the best one.
