Returning to the EuroLeague stage this season after an 8-year hiatus, Partizan Mozzart Bet achieved great success and got the playoff ticket.
Coach Zeljko Obradovic‘s team will meet with Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, with the Spanish champions having home-court advantage.
Ostoja Mijailovic, the president of the Partizan, stated that he is delighted with the course of the season,
“It’s been a great season for us so far. We are at the top of the Adriatic League, and if we beat Buducnost in the last game of the regular season, we will finish the season in 1st place. We also finished the EuroLeague in 6th place and got the playoff ticket. We’ve had a season beyond our dreams but we can do more. We can achieve more in the EuroLeague and the Adriatic League,” Mijailovic said on Serbian national television RTS.
He also spoke about the ticket and combined income of the club.
“This season, we broke EuroLeague records in the number of spectators and sold tickets, and we broke the record in the Adriatic League by gathering more than 400,000 spectators so far. Remember that we broke this record in the regular season, and there is one more game before the playoffs begin. We expect revenue of around 5.000.000 euros from, and of course, this will also be a club’s record. In 2017, 6 years ago, our annual ticket revenue was 36.000 euros. Within six years, we increased this by 5.000.000.”
Referring to the Real Madrid series in the playoffs, Mijailovic stated that he thinks they will win at least one away game.
“Ahead of us is Buducnost and then Real Madrid. Of course, Real Madrid’s away games will be tough, but the team will do its best. Real Madrid is the only club in Europe with more EuroLeague titles than Zeljko Obradovic. They probably won’t want our coach Obradovic to equalize them. Frankly, I believe we have a chance. I think we can win at least one game in Madrid, and if we return to Belgrade with at least one victory, it would be great because Real Madrid will face an incredible atmosphere in Belgrade,” Mijailovic concluded.
