The brawl between Partizan and Real Madrid is the biggest story in European basketball at the moment, and the reactions of many players, especially on social media, are a mix of surprise for what happened on the court and also about the sanctions that followed.
Reigning EuroLeague MVP Nikola Mirotic, however, went on the record and described the situation as a “disaster”.
“I do not want to comment on the disaster others have made,” Mirotic, a former Real Madrid player, told Catalan radio station RAC1. “Let them think about how they wash their faces and hands for what happened. Obviously, basketball doesn’t deserve these things, especially, basketball at this level.”
Another Barca player made a comment.
“I didn’t understand myself. It’s unbelievable,” Rokas Jokubaitis added on the same media outlet about the scuffle. “This should not happen in basketball. The next day, people [who made wrong decisions] understood, but it was too late.”
