Fenerbahce Beko returned home one victory after the first two playoff games in Piraeus against Olympiacos and will host Games 3 and 4 in Istanbul, potentially stronger for Scottie Wilbekin and Nemanja Bjelica.
Wilbekin and Bjelica missed the first two matches due to injuries, but as the club announced, they trained with their teammates before Wednesday’s (03/05) clash.
It still needs to be determined whether the US guard and a Serbian national team player can help the team, and the decision on their participation will be made at the last minute.
After the Game 2 win, Fenerbahce‘s coach Dimitris Itoudis stressed that the odds were not in Wilbekin’s favor.
“It’s more likely that we won’t see Wilbekin in the next match; as much as I want him, he needs a while to be himself again,” Itoudis said.
As for the injured Devin Booker, he is still out of the action and is certain he won’t be at Itoudis’ disposal.
Wilbekin averaged 11,1 points and 2,6 assists before the knee injury in mid-March, while Bjelica played only seven games due to injury struggles and averaged 2,7 points and 2,1 rebounds.
