As officially announced by Virtus Bologna, Alessandro Pajola has extended his contract with the Italian side until 2026. In his first-ever EuroLeague season, the 23-year-old playmaker was inserted as a candidate for the Rising Star Trophy Award.
In 29 appearances in this year’s European competition, he had 3.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
“Pajo”, raised in Virtus youth since 2015, has collected with the black-and-white jersey a promotion and an Italian Cup of A2, a Basketball Champions League, a Scudetto, two Italian Super Cups, and the Eurocup victory last season. On an individual level, he was named best under 22 in Serie A in the 20/21 season and MVP of the Italian Super Cup in the 21/22 season. In his eighth season in Virtus Segafredo, a staple of the Italian National Team, Alessandro is eleventh for the number of appearances in Black V history and fourth for assists in Serie A in the history of Virtus”, the official press release says.
