All-EuroLeague First Team for the 2022-23 season has been announced, and it seems pretty clear that Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv’s Wade Baldwin wasn’t satisfied with the made choices.
Along with his teammate Lorenzo Brown, Walter Tavares, Mathias Lessort, Sasha Vezenkov, and Dzanan Musa made it to the Best Five, but Baldwin obviously feels he deserved to be included.
He went to social media and posted his rankings among guards in EuroLeague, reminding the voters that he was 1st in points, 7th in assists, 1st in rebounds, and in PIR.
The US player also pointed out that he was 2nd scorer of the EuroLeague in the playoffs, that he led the league in assists during the quarterfinal series, and that he had the second-highest PIR.
That wasn’t enough, as he added that he plays for the Top 5 team of the EuroLeague, and ranks second overall in scoring, seventh in assists, and that he has fourth-best average PIR.

Moments after, he went to Twitter again, making his selection with himself, Lorenzo Brown, Mike James, Sasha Vezenkov, and Walter Tavares in the First Team, Kevin Punter, Dzanan Musa, Mathias Lessort, Nikola Mirotic, and Kostas Slukas in the All-EuroLeague Second Team.
Without a doubt, Wade Baldwin had a great season in the EuroLeague, leading Maccabi to the playoffs with Brown, and averaging 17,2 points, 5,1 assists, and a PIR of 17,6, but members of the media, EuroLeague head coaches and team captains, and fans went the other way.
