Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and Bonzie Colson put pen to paper on a new two-year contract running through 2025, as officially announced.
The 27-year-old forward quickly became one of the most popular players on the team and an essential part of Head Coach Oded Kattash’s rotation.
“To me, Bonzie has had one of the most impressive rookie seasons I remember,” commented Coach Oded Kattash, “He is immense for us. He brings lots of energy, is versatile, and can play in different positions. I do not doubt that he will get even better as time goes on. It’s definitely a quality signing. Moreover, we are keeping the team’s base. Everybody loves Bonzie“.
In his EuroLeague rookie season, Colson scored 10.7 points per game.
“I am extremely excited; it’s a blessing to renew and extend my contract,” Said Bonzie Colson, “I’m excited to get to work. It’s been my first year in EuroLeague; I’m just trying to continue to work, build and adapt, and hopefully put some banners in the arena. It’s a very special club; if you’re not a part of it, it’s tough to understand the love the fans give you every game“.
After playing briefly for Milwaukee Bucks and in G League, Colson moved overseas in 2019 and played for Darussafaka. After that, he went to France and spent a season in SIG Strasbourg before returning to Turkey in 2021 and signing with Pinar Karsiyaka. Last summer, he joined Maccabi, and it seems he won’t be leaving soon.
