KAUNAS, Lithuania – Olympiacos guard Kostas Sloukas talked about how his team managed to not only come back from a 12-point halftime deficit against AS Monaco in the EuroLeague semifinal but completely turn the game around with an unprecedented 27-2 run in the third quarter.
“The key was first of all better defense and better selections on offense. I think that these are the two things we made better in the second half to take the win.”
” Just celebrate tonight. Then we put the Final on our minds and prepare for a fight,” he added in regards to the championship game that will be vs. either Real Madrid or Barcelona.
“We missed a lot of free throws and wide open lay ups and on top of that missed a lot of three-pointers,” Olympiacos center Joel Bolomboy had mentioned in regards to what his team changed at the break. “At halftime, we just talked to ourselves and the coach definitely talked to us and told us there is no pressure, just go out there and play Olympiacos basketball.”
