KAUNAS, Lithuania – Olympiacos had one of the greatest Final Four performances ever, producing a 27-2 run in the third quarter against AS Monaco to take the win and get to the EuroLeague Final. Alec Peters wasn’t on the court during that third quarter but expressed his emotions about it in the mixed zone following Olympiacos‘ victory.
“That third quarter was unreal. What guys like Moustapha [Fall], Sasha [Vezenkov], and Pap [Papanikolaou] did in that quarter was everything we needed”, he said. “It’s probably the best quarter I’ve ever witnessed. You wish you could be a part of it, but just sitting and watching that is something I’ll never see again”, the American power forward added.
Overall, the former CSKA Moscow and Anadolu Efes player spent only 4:28 minutes on the court with 1 rebound grabbed, but he will be forever in the history books as part of an outstanding performance by his team. Olympiacos will now participate in the Final after losing in last year’s semifinal.
