KAUNAS, Lithuania – Olympiacos and Real Madrid will meet again on a final, one decade after 2013 when Olympiacos and coach Giorgos Bartzokas won the EuroLeague title.

And the veterans of both teams will be still present in Sunday’s game, taking Sergio Rodriguez down memory lane. To be exact, Kostas Papanikolaou, Kostas Sloukas, and coach Bartzokas from Olympiacos as also Sergio Llull, Sergio Rodriguez, and Rudy Fernandez for Real Madrid will meet again in a final.

And as Real Madrid’s point guard said: “We had an amazing rivalry against them, they are one of the best clubs in Europe. We have played a lot of times against each other. We know that this year we didn’t have two good games against them”.

Still, father time has not caught up with “Chacho” who practically decided the semifinal against Barcelona with nine straight points.

As he explained: “It’s a great victory for us, we know the format of the EuroLeague is very, very tough, 10 months, then the playoffs, the most complicated playoffs in the history of the EuroLeague. We came back, we won, and that momentum we have to keep it going. Rest tonight, and then face the best team of the season”.
