Baskonia reportedly close to keeping Marcus Howard for another season

Cazoo Baskonia found another gem in Marcus Howard, as the US sharpshooter proved to be a real menace at the EuroLeague level, and as El Correo reports, both sides want to continue together for another season.

Howard’s contract ends in 2024 and does not include any exit clause for Euroleague teams, so the interested parties would have to negotiate directly with Baskonia about the buyout. It may be one of the main reasons no team has moved to sign the Victorian team’s scorer.

Added to this is an even more important aspect: both parties, club, and player, want to continue together.

The 24-year-old guard has been one of the great revelations of the season, averaging 14.2 points in the 33 EuroLeague games he has played. He was the top marksman of the top continental competition with 2,7 three-pointers per game, shooting with a solid 36,5% from beyond the arc.

Baskonia started the season on a high note but couldn’t make it to the EuroLeague playoffs and ended the season in the ACB League quarterfinals (0-2 against Joventut).
