A veteran of 153 games in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, all playing for Crvena Zvezda, Ognjen Dobric is heading to Virtus Segafredo Bologna.
Dobric, 28, has a deal in place with the team based in Bologna for the next season, according to Eurohoops sources.
Moving away from Belgrade to display his talents abroad would be a new challenge. A youth product of Red Star, he has focused his entire career between Crvena Zvezda following consecutive loan spells at FMP between 2013 and 2016.
Moses Barda was the first to report on the Serbian sharpshooter finalizing a deal with Virtus Bologna.
The six-time league champion and four-time Cup winner at the domestic level in Serbia, is currently battling alongside his teammates for the AdmiralBet ABA League crown with the best-of-five series opposite crosstown rival Partizan Mozzart Bet tied at 2-2. He has already been part of four championship runs in the regional league.
His EuroLeague career amounting to 153 appearances features career averages of 7.6 points, 1.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.1 blocks per game. In 2022-23, he posted 9.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 0.5 steals per contest as his side finished with a 17-17 W-L tally, two games short of clinching a berth in the Playoffs.
Beyond the club level, Dobric represented Serbia in the 2020 FIBA Olympic Qualifying tournament held in Belgrade. The remaining international caps were earned through the Qualifiers leading to the 2019 and 2023 FIBA World Cups.
