After winning the LNB for the first time ever in the club’s history, AS Monaco started to make some moves on the market, acquiring Terry Tarpey for the next three years.
The 29-year-old forward, who impressed at EuroBasket 2022 for his effort on the defensive end, has played in Le Mans since 2017 after playing his first professional career in 2016 with Denain. With Le Mans, he won the 2017-18 LNB.
In the 2022-23 French league, after playing EuroBasket 2022 under Vincent Collet with France, he put up 8.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game in 26 appearances. He will debut in the EuroLeague but already played on the International level in the 2019 Basketball Champions League.
“I had a good discussion of 20-30 minutes with coach Obradovic, three weeks ago. We talked about our common mentalities, his way of managing, and what he could achieve from me. As for me, I remain the natural man that I am. In France, I learned to adjust and to be trained by different coaches. I’m a bit of a John Brown profile, with this desire to always be everywhere on the pitch”, he said in a first interview as Monaco’s player on the Monegasque club’s website.
“That’s what I want to bring. As for the band, I know Elie, Yoan, and Yak too. And then in the world of basketball, players always know each other more or less. I did my medical tests before leaving for the United States and I was able to speak with a few members of the staff. It’s nice to arrive in such an environment”, Terry Tarpey added.
