As officially announced by Valencia on its website, Klemen Prepelic and the Spanish club won’t continue together next season, as Alex Mumbru’s team has decided to not renew the Slovenian guard’s contract.
The 30-year-old, who won EuroBasket 2017 alongside Goran Dragic and Luka Doncic, had a tough season between injuries and what looked like disciplinary sanctions. He played in 52 games averaging 6.7 points with 25.2% in three-pointers, 0.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists.
“After three seasons, I have to leave Valencia with a bittersweet taste, but I’ll keep with me all the beautiful things that have happened. They have been two seasons full of positivity and good experiences and the last one which is better to forget as fast as possible”, he said via Twitter.
Moving to Real Madrid in 2018, he won the ACB and the Spanish SuperCup there. In the 2019-20 season, the former Union Olimpija player moved on loan to Joventut Badalona, attracting Valencia’s interest the following summer.
Another move has been announced in the ACB League this morning, as Stefan Jovic will continue playing with Casademont Zaragoza after averaging 8.7 points, 4.2 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game in 20 appearances in last year’s Spanish league.
