According to RAC1, as cited in the Mundo Deportivo report, the Turkish center Sertac Sanli, who will turn 32 in August, has received an offer to stay with Barcelona, but it comes with lower contractual terms.
The Turkish big man’s link to the club ends this summer. It seems that Catalans are willing to keep him, but on reduced terms, due to the decision of the club to undertake a cut in the budget for the next season.
As the future of James Nnaji, who was drafted at number 31 by the Charlotte Hornets, remains uncertain, Oscar Da Silva and Jan Vesely are the only players currently under contract for the upcoming season. Sanli and Mike Tobey are both approaching the end of their contracts this summer, while Nikola Mirotic will be leaving the team.
Coach Sarunas Jasikevicius, who Barcelona also wants to keep, could use his ability to threaten from the perimeter. This season, Sanli has been averaging 7.3 points and 3.4 rebounds in domestic competitions and 6.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in the EuroLeague.
Having had a successful career in Turkey with Galatasaray, Tofas, Gaziantep, Usak, Trabzon, Besitkas, and Anadolu Efes, Sanli has already won the Copa del Rey in 2022 and the 2022-2023 Endesa League during his two seasons with Barcelona.
