Mam Jaiteh says goodbye to Virtus Bologna to join AS Monaco

As first reported by Repubblica, Mam Jaiteh is set to join AS Monaco next year, ending his adventure with Sergio Scariolo’s Virtus Bologna. In this year’s EuroLeague, the dominant big man averaged 8.4 points and 4.7 rebounds under the basket in Italy.

“We tried hard, we gave what we could. Thank you to all the amazing fans for your support during all my time here, every time, and everywhere. This place made me grow up and brought me a lot! Incredible memories that will last forever here! La Dotta, la Grassa e la Rossa: thank you 🖤🖤🖤”, the 29-year-old French center said in an Instagram post.

He led Virtus Bologna to win the 2021-22 EuroCup against Bursaspor, being named MVP of the competition and being inserted into the All-EuroCup First Team. Before moving to Bologna, he also played for INSEP, Boulogne-sur-Mer, JSF Nanterre, SIG Strasbourg, and Limoges CSP in France.
