In a shocking turn of events, Kevin Punter is officially a member of Partizan for the next two years, his deal with Barcelona was never completed and the contract ultimately was never signed.

Despite Punter’s initial decision to pick Barcelona’s offer, Partizan managed to make him change his mind and secure the signing of their star player.

After all, the fans of Partizan love him, coach Zeljko Obradovic trusts him, and all those were factors in him changing his decision.

Meanwhile, despite Mirotic being on the exit door of Barcelona, the club still owes him 22 million euros from his guaranteed contract for the next two seasons and there’s no sign that he is willing to facilitate the club, creating a financial issue.

On the other side, Punter and Partizan proved to be a more than successful combination, the Serbs moved fast, after losing Mathias Lessort and they provided him with a similar deal.

With Punter onboard, Partizan managed to make it to the EuroLeague playoffs and he was an All-EuroLeague team member.

Punter (1.93 meters, 30 years old) first joined the club in 2021 and has shined in the Serbian capital.

He averaged 16.1 points on 44.3% three-point shooting, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steal over 37 EuroLeague games last season during which he led the team to within one game of the Final Four. He also helped Partizan win the ABA League championship. In his first season with Partizan, Punter was named to the All-EuroCup Team after leading the club to the EuroCup Playoffs.
