Bouncing back following the decision of Sasha Vezenkov to join the Sacramento Kings, Olympiacos intends to make an offer to Nikola Mirotic.

The Reds considering Mirotic as a possible suitable replacement for Vezenkov was previously reported by Eurohoops.

With the reigning season MVP of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague on the way to the NBA, the team based in Piraeus is prepared to offer the previous MVP a two-year contract which will keep them among the highest-paid players of the competition, per Eurohoops sources.

Of course, he will not get a salary as high as the one in Barcelona, due to the EuroLeague Financial Fairplay, still, Olympiacos also offers him a great chance to compete for the trophy.

Despite the complicated and developing situation regarding parting ways with FC Barcelona, Mirotic practically is a free agent. Naturally, big clubs across the EuroLeague field have surfaced as potential suitors, including the Greek club determined to pursue him and an attractive destination as the runner-up of the 2022-23 edition of Europe’s premier club continental competition.

Mirotic, 32, spent the last four years with Barca, following the conclusion of his five-year run in the NBA with the Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans, and Milwaukee Bucks. Back to the Old Continent and moving to the archrival of his former team Real Madrid, his stint at the Catalonia club was highlighted by being named 2021-22 EuroLeague MVP.

The latest EuroLeague campaign, his ninth individually, produced 15.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.4 blocks per contest over 29 appearances with his side reaching the Final Four but settling for fourth place in Kaunas. Contributing to the ACB championship, he tallied 13.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in Spain’s Liga Endesa.
