Olympiacos Piraeus and free-agent star guard Kostas Sloukas will meet Monday (3/7) to discuss the possibility of continuing together. The Reds are going to present the veteran Greek playmaker with their offer for a new contract.
Sloukas earned €1.8 million in the last year of his contract with Olympiacos.
As of now, Sloukas has received an offer from his former team Fenerbahce Beko. The 33-year-old player has been rumored to be a target of several other clubs, such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Partizan Belgrade but there haven’t been any talks between his side and other teams.
Olympiacos will make a major effort to keep Sloukas, especially after losing EuroLeague MVP Sasha Vezenkov to the Sacramento Kings. The two sides had previously had talks regarding a contract extension a couple of months ago but no agreement was reached back then.
Sloukas had 11.0 points, 5.6 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 22:50 minutes during 2022-23 in EuroLeague as Olympiacos reached the championship game.
