Participants on-site and online participated at the ELPA Performance International Congress, EPIC 2023, which was held at the Technogym Village in Cesena, Italy.
Following the online edition of EPIC in 2021, this year’s event was the first one held also with live attendance. Strength & conditioning coaches, basketball coaches, physiotherapists, doctors, students, and other interested individuals in the field of performance gathered at the Technogym Village.
ELPA Performance Advisory Board and their guests from the EuroLeague and NBPA, together with ELPA partners Technogym and Starpool, presented thought-provoking topics and innovative solutions in the areas of training, injury prevention, recovery, rehabilitation, performance management, psychology, and nutrition.
On the day before the congress, ELPA Performance Advisory Board members met with Technogym and Starpool representatives, toured the exquisite Technogym Village and technology center, and tested their newest products. They sat down for an impactful workshop that focused on the importance of athletes’ proper preparation for practice, different ways of maximizing training time, and the significance of recovery.
ELPA’s mission is that through events such as the EPIC, the association shares professional knowledge with its members/players, their personal and club performance teams, and all those in the field of performance who are working closely with the athletes. ELPA’s mission is to make athletes’ careers longer, better, and more successful.
“We are proud to be able to host the EPIC event at the Technogym Village. Partnerships with Technogym and Starpool allow us to talk to the brightest minds in the business and to continue pushing for innovation together with the members of ELPA’s Performance Advisory Board. Learnings from this event will help us improve training conditions and standards for our players in the EuroLeague, and that is some of the most important work that we do. Benefits of the event such as the EPIC are another piece of the puzzle of the long and illustrious careers of our players,” ELPA Managing Director Bostjan Nachbar said.
