In a quick turnaround from securing the services of Semi Ojeleye, Valencia doubled up with the addition of Boubacar Toure.
Toure, 27, signed a two-year contract to join the Oranges, the team announced Tuesday.
The Senegalese center will debut in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, following his introduction to European club competitions by making his way to ten Basketball Champions League games as a member of Tofas over the 2022-23 season.
Per the announcement: “Valencia Basket has reached an agreement to incorporate Senegalese center Boubacar Touré (2.13, Senegal, 31/12/1995, 27 years old) to its men’s team for the next two seasons. The inside player lands in the Ciudad del Turia after averaging 11.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1 block and 17.4 efficiency per game last season at Tofas Bursa, where he finished in style scoring 23 and 24 points against Fenerbahce in the quarterfinal series of the Turkish competition.”
Developing his skills in the NCAA, his college basketball campaign stretched from a brief spell at Gran Canyon to recovering from injury and transferring to Eastern Michigan for two brilliant seasons, 2018-19 and 2019-20. Moving his talents to Europe, he established himself as a leading player for Chorale Roanne in the top division of France, Jeep Elite / Betclic Elite LNB Pro A through the next two seasons, before heading to Bursa for the 2022-23 season.
International experience with Senegal spread from the junior to the senior level by participating in the 2021 FIBA Afrobasket and 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.
