Olympiacos is preparing for the post-Vezenkov era and monitoring Nikola Mirotic, however, they are also keeping Alec Peters and Isaiah Canaan.
The EuroLeague finalists will pick up the extension option on both contracts with the deadline for the clause expiring today.
Peters and Canaan had a good season with Canaan shining in the Final Four, but ultimately being the odd man out in the Greek League roster for the playoffs due to the limit of non-local players.
Canaan averaged 6.3 points with 38.2% shooting from beyond the arc in the EuroLeague, while Peters had 4.6 points and 2.5 rebounds with an impressive 41.1% three-point shooting.
It has to be noted that once again Olympiacos is expected to have seven non-Greek players on the roster since there are also six signed (Canaan, Peters, McKissic, William-Goss, Mlitunov, and Fall) and the talks with Mirotic are ongoing.
With the number of foreigners already high, Olympiacos also announced that they are parting ways with Joel Bolomboy and Tarik Black, not picking up their option.
Bolomboy, a Ukrainian-born Russian-American player joined the Piraeus team last summer after spending four years with CSKA Moscow. He averaged 3.8 points and three rebounds in his 35 EuroLeague appearances last season.
Black was added as the seventh non Greek player in the roster last season, however he had some big games being more than solid. Still he couldn’t help Olympiacos in the EuroLeague Final Four and the final stretch of the regular season.
