Olimpia Milano has officially completed its coaching staff for the upcoming season by adding Serbian tactician Milan Tomic, as confirmed by the club.
The 49-year-old coach expressed his excitement for the new challenge in his career.
“I’m happy and excited to become part of such a prestigious club and family as Olimpia Milano. Working for one of the best coaches in Europe and being a member of a high-quality coaching staff represents a significant opportunity and honor for me. I will now be completely focused on helping the team reach the goals we aim to achieve,” Tomic said.
Milan Tomic had an impressive playing career, representing Radnicki and Olympiacos Piraeus from 1991 to 2004. He achieved notable success with Olympiacos, winning the EuroLeague in 1997, five Greek titles, and three Greek Cups.
Following his retirement as a player, Tomic transitioned to coaching and joined Olympiacos’ coaching staff in 2008. He stayed with the team until 2018, winning the EuroLeague twice, once under Dusan Ivkovic and once with Giorgios Bartzokas as head coach. Tomic also had a brief stint as the team’s head coach in 2014.
In 2018, Tomic returned to Serbia and became the head coach of Crvena Zvezda. He achieved significant success with the team, guiding them to victory in the Adriatic League and the Serbian championships in 2019, as well as winning the Super Cup in 2018. After leaving Crvena Zvezda, Tomic took on the role of head coach at Peristeri Athens.
