After being named the MVP of the 2022-23 7DAYS EuroCup with Turk Telekom Ankara, Jerian Grant is set to return to the EuroLeague signing a 1+1 deal with Panathinaikos, according to Eurohoops sources.
UPDATE: The deal is expected to be announced Friday.
Having played one season with Olimpia Milan in the 2021-22 EuroLeague, this will be the second time the former Promitheas Patras player will spend time in the European competition, earning the call from Ergin Ataman after averaging 14.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game in the EuroCup.
Jerian Grant is set to become the fifth newcomer of the summer for Panathinaikos after Kostas Antetokounmpo, Luca Vildoza, Dimitris Moraitis, and Mathias Lessort. Today, the green-and-white side also announced the departure of Mateusz Ponitka.
Son of Harvey Grant, brother of Jerai and Jerami, and nephew of Horace Grant, the 31-year-old American playmaker was selected with the No.19 overall pick by the Washington Wizards in the 2015 NBA Draft and immediately traded to the New York Knicks.
He then played more than 200 games in the NBA with the Chicago Bulls, and Orlando Magic, spending time in the G-League with the Windy City Bulls and the Capital City Go-Go. He then made the jump overseas to play in the 7DAYS EuroCup with Promitheas Patras. Therefore, he will return to Greece next season.
