Fenerbahce Beko is signing center Sertac Sanli to a two-year contract according to Eurohoops sources. The deal between the two sides has been completed and the Turkish powerhouse is expected to announce the transfer during the coming week.
Sanli, 31, is returning to Turkey after spending the last two seasons with Barcelona in Spain. In 2022-23, he had 6.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 17:09 minutes over 36 EuroLeague appearances as the Blaugrana made the Final Four for a second year in a row. In the Spanish ACB League, the Turkish big man averaged 7.3 points and 3.4 rebounds in 15:54 minutes for a Barca team that won the championship title.
Before his move to Barcelona, Sanli won the 2021 EuroLeague championship with Anadolu Efes. He had a strong outing in the Final Four of that season with 15.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in wins over CSKA Moscow in the semifinal and Barca in the Final.
Fenerbahce, that has been quiet so far in the transfer market, is also expected to retain guard Tyler Dorsey despite rumors that he may be on the team’s exit door.
