Another EuroLeague transfer market saga was put to an end, as Mateusz Ponitka officially joined Partizan Belgrade after saying he was in negotiation “with Crvena Zvezda and several other clubs”. As previously reported by Mozzart Sport, the Polish small forward will now play in Serbia.
The 29-year-old Polish small forward, who was recently released by Panathinaikos alongside Lefteris Bochoridis, Paris Lee, Nate Wolters, Derrick Williams, and Arturas Gudaitis, had 8.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in last year’s Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
Before making the jump to Panathinaikos, he played with Filou Oostende, Zielona Gora, Pinar Karsiyaka, Tenerife, Lokomotiv Kuban, and finally Zenit Saint Petersburg. Mateusz Ponitka is Partizan Belgrade’s second official announcement of the day, after the return of Ognjen Jaramaz.
Welcome to Belgrade, Mateusz!✊🏽🖤🤍
