Lithuanian sharpshooter Rokas Giedraitis moved his talents to Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet.

Giedraitis, 30, inked a one-year contract to join the Belgrade outfit, the team announced Saturday. He officially became a free agent Friday evening, after parting ways with Baskonia.

The three-year run with Bitci/Cazoo Baskonia concluded with becoming the team captain through the 2022-23 season.

Tallying 10.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game over 68 appearances across all competitions last season included 10.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.2 blocks per contest in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Staying in Europe’s premier club competition, he is heading to a fourth individual campaign, after three with the team based in Vitoria-Gasteiz and the impressive introduction with ALBA Berlin in 2019-20.

Earlier summer signings for busy Zvezda stretch from veterans Milos Teodosic and Adam Hanga to Joel Bolomboy, Mike Tobey, Dejan Dadividovac, and Marko Simonovic. In addition, Luka Mitrovic signed a contract extension. More pieces are expected for the team coached by Dusko Ivanovic heading to the 2023-24 editions of EuroLeague to go with regional AdmiralBet ABA League and domestic competitions in Serbia.

In the 2022-23 season, the Serbian club won both the Admiral Bet Basketball League of Serbia and the Triglav osiguranje Radivoj Korac Cup. However, missing the EuroLeague Playoffs with the balanced 17-17 W-L tally falling two games short of the top eight and losing the ABA best-of-five championship series to archrival Partizan Mozzart Bet left a bad taste.
