After two seasons in the EuroLeague with ALBA Berlin under Israel Gonzalez, the 26-year-old playmaker Tamir Blatt is back in his native country to reunite with his father David in Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The Israeli point guard, who signed a two-year deal with the yellow-and-blue powerhouse, averaged 7.9 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game, shooting 89.5% at the free throw line over a total of 30 appearances.
“I am happy to return home to Israel. I am proud to join Maccabi Tel Aviv, one of the biggest historic teams in all of Europe. I look forward to meeting the team, my teammates, and the crowd, and want to use my experience in the EuroLeague to help the club achieve all its goals. Let’s go Maccabi”, he said via the official club’s website.
David Blatt’s son already played in his native country with Hapoel Tel Aviv, going on loan to Ramat HaSharon in the 2014-15 season, Hapoel Holon, and Hapoel Jerusalem, before signing for ALBA Berlin 2020. He officially moved to Germany after another season on loan to the red-and-black team.
