After joining AS Monaco mid-way through the 2022-23 season and recently parting ways with the Monegasque side, Chima Moneke will now continue hooping in the EuroLeague.
The 27-year-old Nigerian small forward, who started last season with the Sacramento Kings after being named the 2022 Basketball Champions League MVP with BAXI Manresa, has reached a two-year agreement with Baskonia.
In his first-ever EuroLeague stint with AS Monaco, he put up 3.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in 16 appearances, dropping a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds against Baskonia at the Fernando Buesa Arena. Winning the LNB, he averaged 9.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, shooting 76.2% from two.
The former Orleans player becomes the fifth summer addition for the Basque side after Nico Mannion, Nikos Rogkavopoulos, Khalifa Diop, and Codi Miller-McIntyre. Chima Moneke himself commented on the news with satisfaction through his Twitter account:
